Title: “A Systems Thinking Approach to Aircraft Electrical Systems Integration.”

Overview: This lecture will shed light on all the design factors to be considered by an aircraft system integration engineer. Other than the usual technical factors the session will also talk about the importance of human factors to be implemented in the design. The idea is to help designers evolve as a holistic design thinker.

About Presenter:

Arjun Vijayanarayanan is an aviation/aerospace industry professional with work experience in roles such as Aircraft Electrical System Design and Integration Engineer, Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) engineer and Aircraft Certification Project Engineer. Arjun currently works at Viasat, Inc as an Aircraft Integration and Certification Project Engineer integrating Viasat in-flight entertainment and connectivity equipment for satellite communications, high speed internet and in-flight entertainment on commercial, business and VVIP aircraft. Arjun has previously worked in companies such as Boeing, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation and GDC Technics.

Arjun has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University (Chennai) and two Master of Science degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Human Factors & Systems from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida.

Arjun works as a mentor/advisor at organizations such as Space Kidz India, Brahmastra Aerospace Systems, Vimana and Dweebs Global.

Arjun is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and Universal Association of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineers (UAMAE).
