The computer processing environment characterized by thesubmission of program(s) and data of jobs along withcomputer control information describing what the system is
designed to perform. The computer stores this informationin files in a queue for processing. After a delay for theprocessing of other jobs in the queue, the processing of thejob is completed, and the output of the job is distributed
according to the user’s instructions. Batch processing is
typified by a very low degree of user interaction with the
job.
