Damping frequency of a vibrating system – V. MohanKumar

Damping frequency of a vibrating system

(Mechanical Vibrations – V.P. SINGH)

The damping frequency is a frequency at which the system maintains its equilibrium and the amplitude of the vibration can be completely reduced. The damping frequency can exist only in an under damped system where zeta is less than 1. The damping frequency is always less than the natural angular frequency.
