Stagnation pressure ratio across a normal shock wave

(WIKIPEDIA)

The stagnation pressure sum total of the static pressure and dynamic pressure. Here, the stagnation pressure P02 is greater the stagnation pressure P01. A normal shock wave is considered to be the strongest shock wave where the flow deflection angle (beta) is equal to 90 degree.
