Time taken (during transition phase), t2 = S2/0.5(V2+V1)
S2 – Distance covered during transition phase in meter
V2 – Final velocity of flight in m/s
V1 – Initial or take off velocity in m/s
During transition phase, aircraft changes its direction of flight & its speed would increase from V1 to V2
The above formula is Time taken of flight during its transition phase, whose denominator is nothing but mean speed at this phase (i.e.) (V2+V1)/2
Generally V1 lies between (1.15 to 1.2)Vs and V2 is (1.05 to 1.1)V1
where, Vs is stalling velocity of that aircraft
