1] About the Hackathon
The International Hackathon on Defence Avionics & Tactical Surveillance Tools brings together innovators, engineers, researchers, programmers, and defence-tech enthusiasts to design next-generation avionics and surveillance solutions for modern battlefield operations.
With advancements in electronic warfare, autonomous platforms, mission-critical computing, signal intelligence, and real-time decision systems, the defence ecosystem demands highly intelligent, secure, adaptive, and robust avionics and surveillance tools.
This hackathon challenges participants to reimagine the future of defence avionics through:

Participants will build concepts, prototypes, models, and algorithms aligned with real-world challenges faced by defence forces across air, land, and naval domains.
2] Problem Statements / Tracks
Track 1: Advanced Mission Computer for Fighter & UAV Platforms
Problem: Modern aircraft need faster, secure, modular mission computers capable of handling real-time operational data.
Expected Solution: Propose architectures, embedded systems, modular avionics, or real-time mission data processing frameworks.
Track 2: AI-Based Threat Detection & Target Identification System
Problem: Manual threat detection delays decision-making during combat.
Expected Solution: AI/ML models for object identification, radar/EO-IR target recognition, anomaly detection, and cueing systems.
Track 3: Secure and Jam-Resistant Communication Links
Problem: Electronic warfare environments interrupt communication channels.
Expected Solution: Anti-jamming waveforms, encrypted data links, frequency hopping protocols, or resilient communication architectures.
Track 4: Sensor Fusion Framework for Tactical Surveillance
Problem: UAVs, ground units, and radars generate massive fragmented data.
Expected Solution: Multi-sensor data fusion algorithms, real-time situation awareness dashboards, or integrated surveillance networks.
Track 5: Cockpit Human–Machine Interface (HMI) for High-Workload Missions
Problem: Pilots experience cognitive overload in complex missions.
Expected Solution: Adaptive cockpit displays, AR/VR interfaces, workload reduction tools, and smart alerting systems.
Track 6: Autonomous Navigation & Collision Avoidance for Defence Drones
Problem: Defence UAVs require autonomous path planning in GPS-denied environments.
Expected Solution: SLAM-based navigation, obstacle mapping, AI-driven guidance, or terrain-following algorithms.
Track 7: Battlefield Surveillance Using Miniature UAV Swarms
Problem: Soldiers require persistent surveillance with minimal equipment.
Expected Solution: Swarm AI, cooperative mapping, communication mesh networks, or compact surveillance drone designs.
Track 8: Radar Signal Processing Tools for Reconnaissance Missions
Problem: Extracting meaningful information from noisy radar signals is challenging.
Expected Solution: Signal filtering models, Doppler processing, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging, or target tracking tools.
Track 9: Real-Time Data Encryption for Avionics Systems
Problem: Defence avionics face cybersecurity risks from interception and hacking.
Expected Solution: Secure encryption modules, lightweight cryptography, secure boot techniques, or defence-grade firewalls.
Track 10: Open Innovation – Participant’s Own Idea
Participants may propose any original and high-impact solution related to defence avionics, surveillance, or tactical mission systems.
